Our mission is simple, but very worthwhile- we help bring a smile to a child’s face. We donate our special teddy bears to children, ages three to thirteen, dealing with  loss, injury, grief, or trauma. This nation-wide program provides teddy bears to hospitals, burn camps, shelters, social workers, child advocates, public safety agencies, and not-for-profit organizations.

We hope to comfort:

• Children affected by a disaster;
• Children affected by a serious illness;
• Children grieving for a brave parent who died in the line of duty;
• Children who have suffered the trauma of sexual abuse or domestic violence.

We provide plush, brown, 10-inch teddy bears to children and organizations we serve.  Each bear arrives wearing our official "Someone Love You" t-shirt.  Our teddy bears are purchased new and donated with no financial restitution expected in return.  So far over 20, 500 of our special teddy bears have been distributed in 17 states: placing more than 2,500 of them into the arms of children affected by September 11th. 

Our special teddy bears are given to provide love and friendship. They help comfort children in their time of need.  This program is funded solely through donations, which means we rely on people like you to help us continue our efforts.

Teddy Bears That Care Program, Inc. was founded and organized by Stephen Doyle and the New York City Firefighters Hockey Team in February 2001.  The program became a separate entity and was incorporated June 2001 in New York State.  Teddy Bears That Care Program, Inc., is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit public charity.  IRS determination letter-1045 issued March 6, 2003.   As described in §501(c)(3), we are eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions in accordance with IRS §170.  Contributions are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
